One of the most special experiences to capture as a photographer is a surprise proposal. Recently, I had the honor of photographing a proposal at an apple orchard in Ellijay, right in the heart of the North Georgia Mountains. THE PERFECT SETTING: AN ELLIJAY APPLE ORCHARD
The soon-to-be fiancée thought we were all just enjoying a day out exploring the orchard and market at R and A Orchards. Little did she know, a much bigger surprise was waiting for her. The apple orchard, with its rows of trees and serene atmosphere, made for the perfect backdrop for a proposal. From candid proposal photos capturing the couple laughing to the intimate moments celebrating being newly engaged, I was able to document it all.
THE BIG MOMENT: A PERFECT SURPRISE PROPOSAL
As we got deeper into the orchard, the anticipation started building. I knew the proposal was coming soon, and my heart was racing as I imagined her reaction. I asked them for just one more photo, positioning her to face away for what she thought would be a fun, playful shot of him running up from behind to embrace her. When he got down on one knee, I was ready for the moment. Her reaction was pure joy; the second she turned around and saw him a bright smile lit up her face. As he asked her to marry him, I clicked away, capturing the raw emotion of the moment. It was a beautiful scene—two people so in love, with the orchard providing a peaceful, romantic backdrop for their special day.
